Sharon,

I'm glad you enjoyed my article and the Noguchi sculptural garden titled California Scenario.

It is a brilliant depiction of California.

As you say, it is simple, beautiful, and peaceful.

I would look up Noguchi on Wikipedia and read through his life for details on how this fit into his art and where to see more of his art.

The tree would be a coast redwoods, sequoia sempervirens. They are native to the CA coast.

Best,

I found out about Noguchi's Sculpture Garden from the letter on page L10 of the Travel section of the Sunday Feb 27, 2011 and walked over to see it today, Feb 28. It's so simple and beautiful and what a peaceful experience! I look forward to a return visit, perhaps at night.

My questions are:

When was this created?, built?, opened to the public?

What species of redwood are in THE FOREST WALK? Are they native to Japan? They appear not to be California, Coast, or Sierra Redwoods that are shown in my National Audubon Society Field Guide to North American Trees (Western Region).

Where are there other examples of Noguchi's work?

Thank you
