Great post. It' s funny because I never even knew what scrimshaw was until I moved to Maui, at least i didn't know it by name. I thought it was an art form that people used to do, not, still did. Aloha!

Thanksgiving marks the beginning of whale watching season on Maui. We live, part of the time, at the Honua Kai on Ka'anapali beach, and we anxiously wait out the summer waiting for whales to visit Maui again. We always try to spend Thanksgiving in Maui to watch the first arrivals.

Good to hear this from a local expert. Maui has a such a variety of things to recommend. I will always remember the day I did a van tour that drove all the way around the island. Saw many wonderful things.
